Many people believe that everything requires balance, and I personally believe it to be true. You can never be completely good or bad. I don't think there's one person in this person that is without a shred of good or evil in their hearts, and when balance is established, I believe that things tend to flow more fluidly in a perfect motion. SB19 mastered that balance. From their personalities that are so different from each other to their fashion styles and hobbies, these five men learned to balance and compromise for the sake of their group. But in my opinion, there are two members of the group that personifies balance and that's PABLO and STELL.
With PABLO as the perfectionist, serious, and authoritative, STELL balances him out with his natural bubbliness, hilarious jokes, wit, and sense of humor. It's one of the first things I noticed when I started to dive into the SB19 rabbit hole. Whenever PABLO's in a serious mood, STELL would always know what to do. I guess it's because this ball of sunshine makes it a habit to observe the people around him. Another factor might be what his fans and A'tin suspects about him. To those who don't know, there are people in this world that are called empath.
Empaths are people who are highly attuned to the energies and emotions around them. They can sense someone's emotions without even having the need for words.
PABLO is a very reserved person. He doesn't always say what he feels outright. Oftentimes, you would see him smile, but there might have been many times when he couldn't bear it anymore. He's just that good at hiding it. A lot of us, Atin, had already noticed that physical touch might be our Pinuno's love language. Now, think about how many times STELL would cling to him, joke with him, sometimes focusing on just him. It's almost always right when PABLO seems too quiet or serious, especially when they were just starting. It's like STELL could sense it and he would do everything he can to cheer PABLO up. He does it with everyone, but the way I see it before, he does it for their leader the most.
It's almost as if he can feel without having the need to ask, and it's beautiful to watch. STELL is the kind person who's never afraid to show affection on or off cam. He genuinely cares for people and he's never afraid to show it. That's why A'tin lovingly calls him the sunshine boy, that and his unwavering happy personality. Since they debuted, PABLO seems comfortable around STELL. He allows him to hug him, be close to him, and he's always quick to laugh at his jokes. I think their closeness since before was the main reason why A'tin shippers call them the "Mother ship".
#StellJun as they were called before because of PABLO's first stage name, Sejun, PabStell are like best friends who grew up together. Two people who are bonded by time and history, know each other inside out, and would weather any storm together no matter what. When these two are together, they are day and night. They know when it's the other person's time to shine. When the other feels like the ground is shaking, the other one would be there to steady him. Aside from Josh, STELL is probably the second most vocal member when it comes to praising PABLO. He would often urge our beloved Pinuno to talk about his songwriting process, explain the inspiration of their songs, and he would even direct the conversation to PABLO at times.
If there are two voices that would blend so perfectly together in a powerhouse ballad, that would be PABLO and STELL. They have distinct voices that fit together like two peas in a pod. STELL's pristine high notes, the way his voice flow like he's singing you to sleep, and when he belts, he would blow anyone's mind, it's literally like listening to an angel singing, and PABLO? He can give whatever the song requires. Grit, anger, creepy yet artistic vibe? He can give it ten times better, but when he goes deep? He can almost literally reach to the deepest part of your heart and rip out your soul. He has the ability to tear down the walls you've built around your heart and force you to face the demons you buried deep within. After you feel the pain, his songs will make you feel like there's a soft hand trying to reach you, inviting you to reach back so he could help you get back on your feet.
The first time I watched their performance at a Shoppee event was the first time I listened to Liham and felt like I wanted to fall in love again. Their harmony and singing technique are incredible in so many ways, it was like consuming a full course meal prepared by Joël Robuchon himself. The way they delivered the emotion the song required and hypnotized everyone to listen was just magnificent. There's something in how their voices blend together that made me feel like something warm touched my heart that I just smiled from start to finish. They are absolutely amazing together in that stage.
STELL can easily bring out that goofy and affectionate side of PABLO regardless of the time and location. His presence is like the reimagination an old renaissance painting needed to look alive again, and PABLO clearly welcomes the feeling every time. Their personalities complete each other, and I think they both know it. It's probably the reason why many of their shippers genuinely think that there's really something going on between them, but I honestly think they're just really good friends. It's quiet understandable why people would think that way about them. I mean, look at how affectionate they are with one another.
They are proof that gender or sexuality is not the basis to form a connection with someone. They are two massively popular and talented men who accumulated so much success between them and yet, they are never afraid to show people how to be humans. With PABLO's weirdness and STELL's adorable anger issues, they are living proofs that imperfections and quirks make a person more interesting, authentic, and relatable. Some delusional fans may think that they are in a romantic relationship, but I think would personally call them "inspirationship" because they can truly inspire people, and possibly each other, to be better.
They were both from fairly big families, have dreams of providing a good life to their loved ones, and were raised by amazing parents. Their siblings, whenever they have the chance, are very vocal about how amazing our two lovely men are as brothers. I mean, I don't even have to know their family stories. The way these two care for their group is proof enough to me. They have a bond that's rooted deep, and it's undeniable, everybody can see that. Hell, even trolls can see it and thought it would be a good idea to use it against these two. Accusing them of being homosexual as if being one is an insult. People like them ruins the beauty of human connection and destroy men's confidence in showing emotions.
Their closeness might be new for some, but I have witness a lot of men have the same relationship as them. Brothers who never had a problem hugging each other—those who seemed to have problems separating themselves from one another. Not only that, I've seen men who are not even related that would live together, sleep in the same bed, share a room and a house, and even clothes at times. Before, it was the media that planted the idea of how men should behave, now it's social media. Toxic masculinity nurtured by the press and society dictates how men should act, but being human tells us that we are supposed to connect. STELL and PABLO shows us that we can, and I hope that no matter happens, they will maintain that connection.
