The Twin Moon

From Sejun and Ken to Pablo and Ken, these two has been lovingly called the weird duo by their fans. I'd only been a fan since January 2024 but what I've noticed is that these two always seem to have their own world in the background. Most of the time, they'd talk in silence, make faces with one another, and laugh at things no one else know about. Ken doesn't speak much, but when he does, it's almost always Pablo to be the first one to laugh or understand. When they're interacting with each other, they give off this brotherly vibe that they don't have to always spend time together or look so close and connected like real brothers.

If you have siblings of your own, you'd understand the connection between two siblings. They don't have to always talk or spend time with each other. They could be apart for years but the connection will remain. I have a younger sister and we couldn't be more different from one another. We have different interests, grew up with different circle of friends, and even now, we don't run in the same circles. Growing up, we did things differently and we don't talk much, but whenever we do, the connection between up is always there. We always understand each other.

Ken used to hate his deep voice because he no longer have the range to sing the songs he used to sing. It was the reason he stopped singing and turned to dancing for a while. His adolescence hit him in a way that somehow crumpled his confidence, so he had to look for another outlet, which turned out as a blessing. When he joined SB19, he had been singing but still had doubts in his own voice. According to him, PABLO helped him to finally accept his deep voice and learned how to capitalize in it. Now, we have a positively confident version of him who can slay almost any genre.

As many fans observed, PABLO's love language may have been physical touch and words of affirmation, with the latter being the most obvious. He is the kind of man who is always generous in giving praises and appreciation. While Ken is admittedly not a showy person. He appreciates people silently and supports them behind the spotlight. What many have noticed is that Ken seems to only allow few people to be in close proximity, when with his brothers, especially with PABLO, he could open up and welcome public affection.

I'm not one of those shippers, but I'm not blind. No matter how hard some delusional solo stans try to pit these two against each other, they have a bond that of brothers that is hard to break. I even saw a screenshot of Ken appreciating Tita Grace's (PABLO's mother) cooking and asking her what's the next viand would be. The two them are like different ends of a spectrum, yet they also have a lot of similarities. For one, they both make underground-ish mix of rock and hiphop sound. If Ken has Bulan as Felip, PABLO has La Luna and Determinado. As individuals, they are both talented, but together? These two can magic like no other. Take MANA as an example. In my opinion, it's that one song that has the most perfect first verse. Their voice perfectly compliment one another with Ken's deep and sometimes growly and PABLO's raspy, gritty, and naturally growly voice.

The two of them are like the north and south poles, polar opposites yet still meet at some point. Ken's voice can go deep and make you feel like you're being mentally transported to the underworld, while PABLO can go high and make you feel like you're being transported to heaven, but between those different ranges is magic. Both can give you immaculate riffs and runs, sexiness that can melt your heart and brain, and when they decide to claw inside your heart, they can pull out the rawest and deeply hidden emotions and force you to finally face them. Quit is Ken's personal work that was supposed to be released under his soloist name, Felip. He decided to submit it to the group and fortunately, it was chosen. To make it fit for SB19's music, PABLO helped rewrite some of the parts and the result? A gut-wrenching alternative rock song that not just helps the listener find the courage to keep going but also to realize that whatever they're going through, it's not the end for them.

They had a petty fight when they were starting, but that didn't stop them from forming a connection with each other. The two of them share one thing in common that they now both enjoy together, basketball. PABLO once said that they don't have friends outside of SB19. He's too busy and focused on their goals, that he hadn't even had the chance to connect with his old classmates and friends. He even said that a perfect day for him was a day with his group members when they don't have to think about works. A day that they could simply enjoy the company of each other. It brings those of us who supports them both great happiness knowing that two of our favorite people have finally found a way to spend time together and make friends outside their regular work.

Shipping aside, my wish for these two is for them to keep them connection strong and intact through time. Aside from the fact that they give peace to many people, I know that a lot of us can see how they genuinely care for and support one another. Also, here's to hoping that they'd finally do a collaboration as solo artists and make a song that will surely do one of these things: touch a lot of hearts, make a lot of heads bang, or insult a lot of naysayers. Whichever way it goes, I will definitely be in for the ride.
